Xiàmén zhíwùyuán (Botanical Garden)

厦门植物园

The botanical gardens were one of the things I was most excited about seeing when coming to Xiamen.

I found a shortcut from our flat to the gardens via an old rail-track that has been converted into a lovely walkway.

I didn't have time to explore the gardens in their fullness, but the little bit I did see was a treat.

At the entrance of the gardens stands one of the biggest trees I have ever seen.

Each new turn offers a view that I could have easily spent a whole day soaking up.
There is even a lilly-pond stage for music performances...
